Project Description

Volunteers will work within the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. After 12 noon, volunteers are invited to stay and enjoy the zoo for the remainder of the day! We are scheduled to work outside the Zoo’s new pub location. Our tasks may include shoveling dirt & moving mulch, planting flowers, or preparing and painting. The Zoo serves all of Northeast Florida, and offers Jacksonville Spartans the opportunity to do the same. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and clothing that can get dirty! The work may be messy and physical. Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Bring work or garden gloves, sunblock, hat, boots, rain poncho, umbrella, so you are prepared for sun and/or rain. Also consider bringing extra water and a pre-packaged snack. If you require an accommodation, have a serious allergy, etc, please contact us.
