Project Description

Help prepare and serve lunch at Central Union Mission, which helps homeless men get back on their feet through a range of services as well as low-income families. We will be preparing and serving lunch to homeless and struggling individuals in their kitchen, so please dress appropriately (closed toed shoes, bring something to tie your hair back if it's long, etc.) We're supposed to ask all volunteers to read the Volunteer Agreement and Release. The basics are that kids younger than 12 can't work in the kitchen, and kids younger than 17 need to be accompanied by an adult. Also, you grant Central Union Mission permission to take and use photos and videos of you (I've volunteered there half a dozen times and that's never happened, but it's in the agreement.) You can read the whole agreement here: https://missiondc.wildapricot.org/Resources/Documents/volunteer_release_online.pdf
