United Way of Northwest Michigan - Spartan Community Volunteers 2024
Hosted by Grand Traverse Area Spartans.
Project Description
We invite all Michigan State alumni, including our area families, students, faculty/staff and MSU Extension educators, along with our university community partners and friends, to please join us as “Spartans Serve” community volunteers for just a day or more.
Volunteer opportunities are ongoing - one time, daily, weekly, monthly or throughout the year.
Together with United Way of Northwest Michigan’s Volunteer Center, volunteers will explore dozens of everyday community needs, along with a host of community service projects, non-profit agencies and faith-community sponsors.
Here's a “sample” of the United Way Volunteer Center’s many in-person and virtual (online) current community needs and service projects:
- Hand Sew Book Bags
- Health Care Team Thank You Notes
- Habitat ReStore Restocking
- COVID-19 Hagerty Vaccination Center Greeters
- Reining Liberty Ranch Veterans’ Garden Helpers
- Day of Caring Virtual “5K Acts of Kindness”
- Inland Seas Education TallShip Crew Member
- Safe Harbor Shelter Host
- Goodwill Inn Kitchen Prepping
