Project Description

In recognition of Veterans Day, our alumni club will be honoring veterans by providing blankets to a hospital unit at the local VA Hospital in Mather, CA.

There will be two blanket-making parties at Angie Strawn's home on Sunday, Oct. 6 and Sunday, Oct. 27, both from 1 to 4 p.m.  This registration is for October 6.

We have committed to making 25 no-sew fleece blankets. The blankets are simple to make — just cutting and tying strips of fleece. They wash beautifully and provide much warmth! You will be given instructions at the party on how to construct the blankets. No need to bring anything as the VA is providing the fleece. However, if you have fabric shears, that would be helpful.

It takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to complete a blanket. If you cannot stay the whole time, you will be able to take the fleece home to finish and return.

Once you RSVP, you will receive additional information, including the address. If you have questions, please email Angie at amstrawn@comcast.net.

Please consider participating in this service project. Spartans Will!

After volunteering on the Spartans Serve site, please complete the additional step below to receive address information.
