Project Description

DC Spartans will help Wreaths Across America honor those who have served in our military by placing a holiday wreath on every tombstone at Arlington National Cemetery.

This event is a popular one in the area, so please make sure to REGISTER early to ensure your spot. Note that you will need to register with the Spartans Serve event as well as on the Wreaths Across America registration page. To register on the Wreaths Across America page, please go to Wreaths Across America site ( https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/14720/Overview/?relatedId=0 )  and follow the instructions to complete your registration.

The DC Spartans group is planning to "meet-up" at 8:45 a.m. at the corner of Patton Drive and Clayton Dr. (near the "bottom" of section 18. See pin location on map below.) This is relatively close to the Service Complex Gate.

If you wish to volunteer with other DC Spartans, please ensure you complete your registration with Wreaths Across America in a timely manner.

You will not be able to volunteer on December 14th if you have not completed the above registration with Wreaths Across America. Volunteers may be required to show their completed registration AND a valid photo ID on the day of the event.

About Wreaths Across America

REMEMBER the fallen… HONOR those who serve… TEACH our children the value of freedom.

Welcome to the Wreaths Across America location page for Arlington National Cemetery.

Arlington is where the Wreaths Across America program began. Starting in 1992, our Founder and his family placed wreaths each December in a different section as a way of saying 'Thank You' to our nation's servicemembers. This private gift went on for many years before the public knew. In 2007, Wreaths Across America the national nonprofit was founded to expand upon this effort to include communities and citizens across the country.

Today, it is our goal to continue to honor ALL those laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery each December. Our volunteers are committed to Remembering and Honoring our nation’s veterans through the laying of wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each veteran aloud.
