Project Description

**This project is for WKAR supporters and affiliates only.**

Help promote children's literacy in the Greater Lansing area by volunteering to assemble WKAR Reading Kits! The WKAR reading kit program delivers high-quality books, educational resources, and hands-on activities to families in need in our community. Last year, more than 10,000 reading kits were distributed during National Reading Month in March and we need your help to reach that goal again!

WKAR is inviting our supporters to join us for 2-hour volunteer shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays leading up to National Reading Month. Volunteer tasks include labeling and sorting books, collating materials, stuffing bags, and fulfilling orders placed by our 100+ community partners. Multiple shifts can be selected each day. If you're unavailable for the dates listed in this project, but would like to volunteer, be on the lookout for new dates that will be added as needed or contact ask@wkar.org for more information.
