Project Description

Join The Cleanup Club for a fun summer cleanup, both on shore and on the water, featuring paddle boarding with Bucket List Experience!

Together we’ll be cleaning up the area of the Clinton River that empties into Lake St. Clair, also known as the Clinton River Spillway. This area is incredibly important to keep trash-free because everything that flows through will inevitably make its way into Lake St. Clair and ultimately, our Great Lakes.

In fact, did you know a large portion of ocean plastic pollution makes its way into the ocean from rivers? Similarly, that phenomenon happens with our Great Lakes too. So join in the fun as we help keep our rivers and lakes clean!

With so much debris ending up in hard-to-reach places along the river, The Clean Up Club is excited to be partnering with Bucket List Experience to offer some surf & turf cleanup fun! Volunteers on SUPs (stand-up paddle boards) will cleanup trash and plastic pollution floating amongst the river while volunteers on land cleanup the riverbank and trail area. Paddle boarding spots will be limited, so you are encouraged to arrive early if you hope to claim one!
