Saginaw Spartans Donation Drive - I support the 1% Food Pantry

Project Description

The Saginaw Spartans are holding a donation drive for the 'I support the 1%' Food Pantry. 

We will be collecting: 

• Beef stew

• Canned meats - Ham, chicken, Spam, salmon, and corned beef hash

• Pork and beans

• Chili

• Spaghetti sauce

• Peanut butter and jelly (Creamy Peanute Butter is the highest demand)

• Instant potatoes

• Pasta, rice, and macaroni & cheese (with the sauce included)

• Pancake mix and syrup

• Hot and cold cereal (including oatmeal)

• Regular ground coffee - no decaf (high demand)

• Laundry detergent & liquid dish soap

• Muffin or bread mixes that only require water

We will also collect cash donations.

All donations will be delivered on November 12.

Your registration for this event can help our club be prepared for volume of donations we will need to store and is greatly appreciated!

About I support the 1% Food Pantry

"I Support the 1%" is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of a group of concerned citizens who have become aware of the economic hardships suffered by many of the military members stationed in our area. Because they are called to leave home at a moment's notice, many find their jobs taken by others when they return. Many have a hard time finding gainful employment due to prejudice against their military requirements and/or the poor economic reality of this area.

Many are homeless and are tortured by memories of the battles they were in, and have difficulty readjusting to civilian life. Many find it difficult to reconcile their dual existence: military at times, civilian at times. ?Because of this, we have banded together to provide relief to our local active duty and veteran members among us.

The goal of "I Support the 1%" is simple. We aim to establish a funding source to support a year-round food pantry just for military personnel.
