Community service is an integral component of a student's MSU experience, preparing them for lifelong civic and social responsibility. Throughout the year, the MSU Alumni Office collaborates with university partners and community sponsors to offer several service opportunities in communities across the state. Projects are open to all currently enrolled MSU students including graduate, professional and medical school students.
For the 2020-2021 academic year we will also offer virtual community engaged learning opportunities in partnership with the Center for Community Engaged Learning.
Currently due to precautions taken surrounding COVID-19, all in-person events and volunteer opportunities are suspended. If in-person events and volunteer opportunities are not yet permissible on the dates listed, virtual opportunities will be provided. For a current list of virtual opportunities, please see the Center for Community Engaged Learnings student offerings.

All student projects on this site are designated with a "Student Project" badge and are only available to students. Registration for these projects is conducted in partnership with the Center for Community Engaged Learning.
Student groups, organizations, RSO's, programs, etc. are welcome. If your group would like to serve together at a designated project, we'll work with you to make arrangements. Please contact Dan DiMaggio, Student Engagement Director, MSU Alumni Office by email or by calling 517-355-6472.
If you're a student that possesses leadership skills, is enthusiastic about service and giving back to the community, enjoys working with a diverse group and has great organizational skills, then consider serving as a site leader for a service project. As a site leader, you'll be the contact for your group at the service location. When the project is complete, you'll facilitate a short reflection with your team.
Thank you to all the university partners and community sponsors that support this program. Without their generosity, our efforts would not be possible.
