Project Description

Volunteers will be working at The Greater Chicago Food Depository to help repack donated food and other products. Many of the donations received by the Food Depository come in bulk quantities, and volunteers are needed to help break them down into manageable sizes. In a repack session you may sort produce, inspect and box shipments of bread, or repack bulk dry goods (pasta, rice, beans, etc.) into smaller quantities. Together, volunteers help to properly and efficiently put together donations that will be distributed to participating food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters in Cook County.
