Project Description

With the ongoing social distancing measures being in place, this year Hong Kong Spartans will be partnering with Dignity Kitchen to host a virtual cooking demonstration event together. Dignity Kitchen is a Singaporean social enterprise that focuses on returning dignity and offering training and working opportunities to the disadvantaged and the disabled, while offering a hawker-style dining environment to the public to do social good through Singaporean local food.

Two Broad's College graduates, Yvonne Lo and Calvin Lai, will team up to share their love of food and represent the local Spartans community to learn and demonstrate the cooking of a Singaporean staple dish, shared by Dignity Kitchen. Throughout the event, we will also take the chance to learn more about Dignity Kitchen and their mission in returning dignity and offering opportunities for the ones that are in need of help in the community. A group of unprivileged children from a non-profit organization that Dignity Kitchen is partnered with, will be joining the virtual event too, so they can learn and make the dish with their families afterward.

Pay-Forward donations will be available for those that are interested, as a token of appreciation and support for Yvonne and Calvin's effort in volunteering on behalf of the Spartans community, as well as Dignity Kitchen in preparing bento meals that will be delivered to unprivileged families after the event.
