Jacksonville Spartans Volunteer at the Zoo

Project Description

The Jacksonville Spartans have partnered with the Jacksonville Zoo to offer unique opportunties to volunteer, learn, and get an inside look behind the scenes and inside animal habitats. Volunteers can expect to work on a Zoo Nature Trail conservation project or inside one of the large mammal habitats. Further details are forthcoming.

At least 14 years old.

 Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather (rain or shine). Wear pants, closed toed shoes or boots, and a MSU t-shirt. Bring work or gardening gloves, a re-usable water bottle, packaged snack, and sunscreen. Work may be dirty and physical, including planting, digging, moving mulch or other habitat material, or painting. And, it's sure to be fun!! 

Once the service project concludes, volunteers can enjoy the zoo for the remainder of the day, and attend the planned MSU student send-off picnic, recognizing NE Florida students attending MSU in the fall, as well as recognizing the many zoo interns and employees who hail from MSU!
