Project Description

Volunteers will be assisting with garden care, weeding, seeding, and maintenance.

All participants must check-in at the “Spartan Day of Service” Kick-Off Event.  The event is in N130 in the Business College Complex.  ALL transportation will depart from the Business College and you must check-in to find out which bus is designated for your project.  Breakfast, a bag lunch, and Service Day t-shirt will be provided to all participants.

Schedule for the Day (subject to change)
8:15 a.m. – Registration Opens
9:00 a.m. – Welcome | Kick-Off Event
9:30 a.m. – Load Busses
10:00 a.m. – Arrive at locations
2:00 p.m. – Volunteer opportunities conclude | Return to campus

About South Lansing Urban Gardens

South Lansing Urban Gardens (SLUG) provides resources and technical assistance for home and community gardeners. We also manage food production in two 90 foot passive solar hoop houses and a 60 foot greenhouse adjacent to the Southside Community Center.  We have a children's garden program, South Side Sprouts and we offer gardening classes for adults on the Autism Spectrum.
