Project Description

The Mission San Juan Community Farm is a unique partnership between the San Antonio Food Bank and the National Park Service. Our mission is to grow and distribute as much food as possible to our community, while empowering clients, school kids, volunteers, and anyone else who wants to learn more about growing food at home with skills they need to do so.

What can you expect when you volunteer? Farm tasks will vary seasonally but our volunteers most frequently aid in planting, transplanting, harvesting, weeding, and mulching.

Because our farm is exposed to the elements, be aware that working conditions will fluctuate with the weather. Our fields remain muddy for several days after rain. Please wear shoes (preferably boots) and clothes that will keep you comfortable and you do not mind getting dirty.

Volunteer sessions may be cancelled in the event of extreme weather. Should a cancellation occur, you will be notified via email 24 hours in advance.

Age Requirement:  We welcome volunteers of all ages to our community farm. However anyone under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Where: Mission San Juan, 9101 Graf Road, San Antonio, TX, 78214

When: 09/17/2022 8:15 AM – 11:00 AM
