Project Description

Join DC Spartans to on September 17th to kick off the official "Spartans Serve Week" (runs September 17-25, 2022) with a DC community service project. We will be Guerrilla Gardening at the Sasha Bruce Youth House (1022 Maryland Ave NE) to help with the clean up and beautification of the property.

We will start promptly at 9am and the service project will go until 11am. Please dress in appropriate attire to get your hands dirty (long pants/sleeves recommended, bring garden gloves if you have them, sunscreen, bugspray, hat, etc). If you own any DC Spartans attire, we'd love to see you dressed in that!

The mission of Guerrilla Gardeners DC is to make unused and neglected spaces beautiful, *green*, and healthy! We are all about 'going green' so let's help Guerrilla Gardeners make Sasha Bruce Youth House greener on September 17, 2022.

About Guerrilla Gardeners DC

Guerrilla Gardeners of Washington DC improves public spaces in the Nation’s Capital, particularly neglected parcels in underserved communities. Our 100% volunteer nonprofit group provides leadership, knowledge, organization, volunteer labor and supplies in collaboration with residents to create more equitable, attractive, usable and safer green spaces for their neighborhoods. Our goal is to encourage and empower residents to maintain and build on these improvements. We also transform underutilized public spaces into pollinator habitats to support birds, bees and butterflies.
