Twelve Baskets

Project Description

Twelve Baskets is a non-profit, non-government funded food pantry serving families in need in the communities of Portage, Schoolcraft, Three Rivers & Vicksburg. Our all volunteer run pantry takes a unique approach by allowing families to "shop" for their food in our grocery store style set-up. Each family is accompanied one-by-one by a volunteer to choose their own food items from pantry shelves. We believe this approach helps to maintain dignity to those who have fallen on hard times and allows us to personally get to know each family and their needs to help serve them better. Volunteer opportunities will include the following options: Shelf stockers, Personal Shoppers, and Parking Lot attendants. Please arrive by 8 AM for a short orientation. Twelve Baskets is excited to have our help for their distribution day!
