Project Description

MSU Extension 4-H is looking for volunteers for August 22, 2019 at the Dexter Public Library from 12:15pm-3:00pm. This program will engage youth in a budgeting and money management learning experience.

Volunteers will be "proprietors" of a merchant stations for a budget simulation.  There will be 10 different merchants "selling" products or services.  Volunteers will receive directions and all materials for their role and do not have to be an expert in any particular occupation. However, if you have experience with a certain cateory, please let us know.  (Categories are areas such as food, cars, realty, finance, retail, childcare, etc.)  The most important quality that volunteers can bring to the table is to stay in the role of salesperson and avoid solving the students' problems.  This is a fun and simple volunteer role.  It is exciting to see youth learn through this simulation.

After signing up to volunteer, you will receive further information via e-mail about the location, arrival time, and any other details that are important.  Come join us, help out, and have some fun while doing it!
